Outreach to foster stronger municipalities inter-agency relations

Aimed at creating a stronger inter-agency relationship with all local authorities with respect to planning permits and to address building and land use contraventions, the Central Housing and Planning Authority (CH&PA) will be hosting a series of outreach sessions with the Local Democratic Organs from all 10 administrative regions.

The first outreach session will be held with the municipalities on Wednesday, January 24, 2018, at Regency Hotel, 89 Hadfield Street at 9:00hrs.

This session will bring together Town Clerks, Chairpersons of the Municipality Works Committees, and the Environmental Health Officers that are assigned to the various municipalities. Also slated to be in attendance are the City Engineer and the Chief Building Inspector from the Georgetown City Council.

The session will address planning and building regulations, the role of Local Authorities in the planning permission process, types of planning applications, criteria for assessment of planning applications as well as contravention and enforcement matters will be discussed by Officials of the CH&PA Planning Department.
