The Guyana Trade and Investment Exhibition – GuyTIE, which is the country’s first ever business-to-business event, today began with a Cocktail Reception to welcome delegates, at the Marriott Hotel.
Over 100 buyers from across the world and 55 exhibitors were received by the Minister of Business, Dominic Gaskin and other GuyTIE organisers.
“I welcome all visitors to Guyana. We are here to show off our Guyanese hospitality. I hope your visit here will be a useful one and beneficial to your businesses. I want to thank the steering committee for pulling together such an event,” Minister Gaskin said.
The minister expressed optimism that fruitful partnerships will be established.
The delegates were also treated a number of cultural performances.
The session will kick-off tomorrow with an opening ceremony at the Marriott Hotel, Kingston, where President David Granger will deliver the feature address. It will be followed by business-to-business meetings and several presentations throughout the day.
The event is a collaboration between the Government of Guyana and several private sector organisations.
