The Guyana Hemp Industries in its continuing lobbying activities for the removal of the barriers for the legalization of Industrial Hemp in the country is set to host two events on Saturday and Sunday September 22nd and 23rd 2018. The event will be held under the theme ‘INDUSTRIAL HEMP- BRINGING BACK BALANCE TO MOTHER EARTH’.

On Saturday September 22nd and Industrial hemp Products mini- exhibition will be staged from 11:00 hrs at the O’Brien’s Residence, 40 East Ruimveldt .

According to the Secretary of the Guyana Hemp Industries, Ms Jennifer Major,  one of the purpose of the exhibition is to enable the public to see what hemp looks like, get to know some of the  products that can be derived from it, and  at the same time have a better understanding of the massive benefits.

The main focus of the GHI at this time is to lobby for the removal of the barriers for its cultivation and manufacturing of industrial hemp in the country and the holding of a Trial Project in all Regions.

Guyana signed in 1971 with the United Nations removing it as a narcotic and at that time of signing the country’s representatives were charged with taking the agreement back home and enforcing it for the Nation, to date it was not done, and the GHI is calling on President Granger to honour the UN Agreement.

The Race is open to all of and gender and the first top three finishers in the male and female (seniors) Juniors, veterans and differently able will receive trophies medals and other lucrative prizes.
