The Ministry of Agriculture will be exploring green agriculture during
the business summit of the Green Guyana Expo.
Chairperson of the Expo’s planning committee, Eric Phillips, recently
told the Department of Public Information (DPI), October 19 is
designated as Green Guyana, Green Agriculture as the Ministry of
Agriculture’s continues to observe Agriculture Month.
“So, for that particular panel, the Ministry of Agriculture will be
inviting people who are involved in agriculture,” Phillips explained.
The Business Summit is scheduled for October 18-19 at the Princes
Ramada Hotel. The summit is expected to be opened by Minister of
Foreign Affairs, Carl Greenidge and members of the diplomatic corps
will be in attendance.
Phillips said the summit is targeting some 200 participants. There
will be seven panels with experts from 16 countries discussing green
energy, living and manufacturing, among other green initiatives.
“The way we’re organising it is somewhat different. We are not having
parallel panels so the panels are sequential,” Phillips explained.
The Green Guyana Expo is scheduled for October 18-20 at the National
Stadium tarmac, Providence, East Bank Demerara.
