Guyana Restaurant Week is once again underway with mouthwatering
dishes to tempt your taste buds and prices to match your pockets. The
Department of Public Information (DPI) visited the Roraima Duke Lodge.
Tucked away in Duke Street Kingston, the restaurant was buzzing with
activity, as patrons took the opportunity to dine at reduced costs.
The lunch menu featured four dishes and two light desserts.
Sous-Chef, Alejandro Gudge said the inspiration behind the dishes for
the gastronomic week was a collaborative effort as they tried to “make
a blend of everything.”
“The menu is basically ideas from some of the chefs. We discussed it,
we thought what is better for the guests and we try to make a little
blend of Italian cuisine, we have a Polish dish as well, we have a
Guyanese dessert,” he explained.
While all choices on the lunch menu are equally delicious, Chef Gudge
shared his top picks.
“I would recommend all of them but for those who love Italian food,
the beef lasagna that would be my first recommendation.”
He added that the Black Cake à la mode would be the perfect ending for
an equally delicious lunch.
While the restaurant caters for lunch, they have a seven-course dinner
menu with a delectable variety.
The Roraima Duke Lodge is one of nineteen participating restaurants in
Guyana Restaurant Week, which provides a platform for culinary tourism
where patrons can eat, explore and repeat.
