LIAT SIGNS AGREEMENT ALLOWING MORE EUROPE LINKAGES TO GUYANA

Thanks to a cooperative agreement, travellers from Europe are now able to conveniently travel to Guyana. The agreement was signed between the German airline Condor and LIAT Airlines, thereby allowing traveling to Guyana from the European countries much faster and more comfortable.

As part of the agreement, passengers are able to afford cheaper tickets all year-round and to use coordinated flight connections. Costs to these travellers are also reduced since there would not be any need to overnight in a connecting country. This was achieved through the establishment of smoother connections between countries so as to allow passengers to reach Guyana within the same day. Therefore, passengers would not lose travel time due to the waiting period for connecting flights.

The Director of the Guyana Tourism Authority expressed enthusiasm with regards to the new travel route. He expressed that the agreement would allow an increase in travelers who would be able to experience the rich natural and cultural heritage of Guyana. This, he said, is a substantial step as Europe is one of Guyana’s core markets.
