Argentina and Guyana to partner for art restoration project

A cultural presentation titled “Guyana and Argentina United in Culture” is slated for the Theatre Guild on September 7th, 2017.

The event is one designed to celebrate bilateral relations between both countries will be presented in the framework of a project in the area of restoration of works of art which will see the first exploratory mission of Argentine experts visiting Guyana between the 2nd and 9th of September.  This will initiate activities for an unprecedented large-scope of work in restoration and conservation, over a period of time, of an important number of works of art belonging to the National Collection housed at the National Gallery of Art, CASTELLANI HO– USE.
The project will be implemented by the “TALLER TAREA” of the Institute for Research on the Cultural Patrimony at the National University of San Martín (UNSAM) located in the city of Buenos Aires, Argentina. As such the project will be conducted in coordination and collaboration between the National Gallery of Art of Guyana and the experts of TALLER TAREA-UNSAM.
