Designed to cater, especially to the increasing number of passengers travelling between Havana, Cuba and Guyana, Aruba Airlines has entered the local aviation market. An inaugural Aruba Airlines flight arrived in Guyana on Sunday and will be operating through the Captain Gerald Gouveia’s Roraima Group of Companies. Gouveia is also the local representative for Dynamics Airways.

The new addition to the aviation market which will be officially launched in a matter of days is expected to offer three flights per week.

Talks about Aruba Airlines flights were first brought to the fore by Director General, GCAA, Ret’d Colonel Egbert Field earlier this year.

Aruba Airlines was founded in 2006 and its network includes Venezuela, several cities in Cuba and Miami. “There is good traffic between Guyana and Cuba and Aruba Airlines will haul in more traffic between Guyana and Cuba. This increase in travel will lead to an increase in foreign currency, especially from the Cubans who travel to Guyana on a regular basis,” Field had stated.
