In observation of Breast Cancer Awareness Month 2016 the Guyana Cancer Foundation will be holding two upcoming events.
These are in collaboration with the HSSE Committee of MDGI.
The first, scheduled for Friday, October 21st is under the tagline “Wear It Pink Friday.” This day marks the observation of National Mammography Day and is in support of Breast Cancer Survivors Worldwide. It involves wearing something pink and taking a photograph. This is then submitted to the HSSE Committee which will use it in a special edition of Life Flash.
The second event will be held on Saturday October 22nd, 2016 and is the 11th annual Breast Cancer Fitness Walk. The walk is scheduled for 6 am and starts at Parade Ground, Middle Street. It will travel around onto Camp Street and then back to Parade Ground where a health fair is to be held. This event is perhaps one of the most well known observation of breast cancer awareness so for all those interested, wear something pink and join the walk. Support those living with breast cancers and those who beat the odds and overcame it.
