The Statistical Department within the Ministry of Social Protection will be conducting a Labour Market Intelligence Survey in the subject areas of skills and occupational wages from the 17th July to September, 30th2017.
The survey will seek to secure information from establishments on existing skills, skills needs and occupational wages. The information provide will be useful for decision makers and those monitoring developments in the Labour market.
Even though data provided will be of great interest to local policy makers and researchers, the information will also be useful to regional organisations such as CARICOM, and international organisations such as the International Labour Organisation, of which Guyana is a member .
All establishments with excess of 499 employees will be approached and a sample of smaller establishments will be taken.
The survey will be conducted in the 10 administrative regions of the country.
Information provided will be treated with strictest confidence and enumerators filling questionnaires will be provided with proper identification during this process. However, the Ministry is asking for the cooperation of the public in order to have a well executed survey.
