Charity horse racing meet set for Kennard Memorial Turf Club

Set for Sunday November 5, 2017, the Charity Horse Racing meet will be held at the Kennard Memorial Turf Club in Bush Lot Farm, Corentyne. All proceeds from the event will be rendered to charity. Six races will be offered up headed by equines classified H & Lower. Prize money for the race will be $450,000 to be contested at seven Furlongs. Also on the card will be races styled for the J and Lower class with a total purse of $318,750 going six Furlongs, K & Lower total purse $225,000 at five Furlongs, L1 and Lower total purse $187,500 at five Furlongs, L2 and Lower total purse $150,000 at five Furlongs and an unclassified event with a total purse of $75,000 going five Furlongs. All races will be run under the rules of the Guyana Horse Racing Authority.

Pastor Quaicy Henry leads the QEK Promotions group hosting the race meeting. Henry was very grateful to the owner of the Club, Mr Cecil Kennard, and management of the KMTC for their charitable gesture supporting a worthy cause”. KMTC is Mr Henry`s home racetrack. He is a member of the Turf Club and has served in various capacities as assistant racing secretary and time keeper. He currently serves as a steward on race days at the course. The non profit QEK Promotions has aligned itself with the charity named #28 Bush Lot in Action. A primary school has benefited by meals from this government affiliated program. In December, 200 kids will be fed and presented with gifts during the 3rd annual Christmas Tree Light Up
