The Diplomatic Corps of Guyana has announced that it has presented donations of $200,000 each to Childlink Inc and the Guyana Community of Positive Women and Girls as part of its annual Christmas tradition. Last year the Corps supported the President’s “3 B’s” initiative and the First Lady’s “Shoes that Grow” initiative.
On behalf of the Diplomatic Corps, Phillippe Coessens of the European Union presented the donation to Omattie Madray, Managing Director of Childlink Inc whilst Mikiko Tanaka of the UNDP presented the donation to Marlyn Cameron, Country Coordinator of The Guyana Community of Positive Women and Children.
In the brief handing over ceremony members of the corps said they were impressed with the work of both institutions in furthering social development in Guyana and hoped that the donations would be used to support projects of the beneficiary institutions. The Corps wished them well and expressed hope that the institutions would continue their good work.
