Having acted in the position of Chief Education Officer [CEO] since last year, Mr. Marcel Hutson has been officially appointed to the position. His appointment, according to a statement from the Ministry of Education, became effective on May 10, 2017.

Under his leadership, Mr. Hutson will be responsible for the overall planning, management and supervision of the delivery of education. In addition he will be required to serve as Adviser to the Minister on policies, practices and procedures regarding education delivery.
Hutson, a former Deputy Chief Education Officer was tasked will filling the void left by Olato Sam, the former CEO.
Sam parted ways with the Ministry towards the end of last year having held that position since 2011.
