Written by

Environmental protection is a keen focus of the Mayor and Councillors of the City of Georgetown.

Moreover, the municipal entity will be seeking to embrace a strategic tactic to raise awareness in this regard.

This will essentially translate to its hosting of a special movie night at the Children Play area of the Merriman Mall.  The special event will be held on Sunday [May 14, 2017] at 5:00pm.

The purpose of the activity is to provide information on good environmental practices and simultaneously allow for those in attendance benefit from fun and games.

The Georgetown City Council in a statement said that this move comes part of its to promote environmental friendly activities. As such it is seeking every opportunity to promote environmental education in schools and local communities.

Further, it is anticipated that activities such as this would help to equip children and young people with the knowledge and skills to address environmental challenges in the local communities. The information that would be shared would help them to make informed choices on environmental issues.

As such the Council would like to encourage parents and guardians to bring out their children so that they can be informed, educated and entertained.
