Just recently Food for the Poor (Guyana) Incorporated (FFP), donated a complete set of marching band instruments to the Mercury Pathfinder Band of the Berea Seventh-day Adventist Church located at 186 Garnet Street Albouystown. The endowment is one intended to enhance the organisation’s musical programme.
The instruments include saxophones, trumpets, and a drum set among others.
On receipt of the items, Pastor Oliver Moore thanked FFP for the generous contribution to the church which he said would benefit the musical programme tremendously.
He further stated that the band does not play only at church events but also for the Guyana Police Force and on national occasions.
In his final remarks, he said that the church was recently burgled and the acquisition of the instruments was probably God’s way of providing for the band.
Wayne Hamilton, Public Relations Manager of FFP said that he is positive that the church would make proper use of the instruments as he has always been impressed with the high level of discipline shown by the entity. He urged the band members to use the instruments to train young, aspiring musicians of the church and community at large.
