Georgetown Public Hospital Corporation Offers New Position

There is a new position for the taking at the country’s central hospital. The Georgetown Public Hospital Corporation (GPHC) is expected to have an improvement in its management with the hiring of a new Deputy Chief Executive Officer. The new position has been advertised in the daily newspapers and the deadline for applications is October 7, 2016.

Credit for the suggestion and implementation of the new position was given to Chairman of the Board of Directors, Dr. Carl Hanoman as well as other members of the board.

Dr. Hanoman stated that the decision to create the position was nestled in the realization that the hospital cannot be efficiently managed by the CEO alone. The current CEO being Mr. Michael Khan who is expected to go on annual leave shortly.

Once appointed, the Deputy CEO will take up the position to lend the CEO his/her support and fill in when he goes on leave.

In order to apply, one must possess a Masters Degree in Public Administration from a recognized institution, plus 8 years of experience at a senior administrative level. Consequently, applicants could possess a Bachelor’s Degree in Public Administration, Public Management or Business Administration instead; along with 10 years working experience at a senior administrative level. Additionally, all persons interested are expected to have sound knowledge of the health sector and hospital administration.
