GPL Inc. makes a financial donation to Cancer Institute

The Guyana Power and Light Incorporated (GPL Inc.) donated a cheque valued at four hundred thousand dollars ($400,000) to the Cancer Institute of Guyana at a ceremony held at the Institute’s Lamaha Street, Georgetown facility.

This donation formed part of GPL’s benevolent activities in honour of the Company’s 18^th Anniversary celebrations and in observance of Cancer awareness month.

The Cancer Institute of Guyana is a Non-Profit Organization, operating in Guyana since 2006. GPL’s financial donation will lend support to the Institution’s mandate of providing services such as screenings, diagnosis, and radiation treatment at a subsidized cost coupled with follow up services for patients with malignant and certain benign diseases.

On Friday October 27, GPL Inc. also made a donation to the Ptolemy Reid Rehabilitation Centre that will lend support to the services being offered by the Centre.
