GRC lends support to fire victims

Written by

The Guyana Relief Council recently gave its humanitarian support to two families that lost their homes to the ravages of fire. The families are: Malinda Reid, family of five of 67 West Ruimveldt, Font Road and Deepa Devi Singh, family of four of 360 Block 12, Non Pareil, East Coast Demerara.

Assistance provided included foodstuff, clothing, kitchen utensils, shoes, bedding, mattresses, two-burner fully fitted gas stoves, hygiene items, etc.

The Guyana Relief Council, a Non-Governmental Organisation, was established to, within its ability, meet the needs of persons in any of the 10 regions of Guyana who suffer because of a disaster – man made or natural. Responding in a timely manner is absolutely necessary and to a great extent the council depends on community minded citizens, both individuals and corporate.

With its limited financial and human resources, the Council continuously demonstrates its motto of “Caring and Sharing” in a tangible way.

The Council’s work is continually supported by organizations and individuals who continue to give their support.
