Lighting Speed internet expected with GTT’s ‘Blaze’

It has long boasted the tag-line –‘getting better all the time’ but the Guyana Telephone and Telegraph Company [GTT] might have finally been able to out-do itself. This time around company promises its thousands of customers across the country uncomplicated ‘lightning speed’ internet service.

At the National Stadium on Saturday the company launched this newest venture titled ‘Blaze’ high speed internet which will be offered in three packages  ‘Ignite’, ‘Flaming’ and ‘Inferno’.

While the cost for the ‘Ignite’ plan tagged at $8,999, ‘Flaming’ is $10,999 and ‘Inferno’, $13,999. Each plan is said to have specific advantages with ignite being suited for browsing and streaming content with up to five megabytes per second (Mbps) download speed and two megabytes Mbps upload speed. The Flaming plan on the other hand offers a download speed of 20 Mbps and eight Mbps upload speed which allows for browsing, streaming, gaming and multi-device use

For the fastest Inferno plan, 50Mbps download speed and 15Mbps upload speed is offered in order to allow customers to advantage of an efficient browsing, streaming, gaming and use of multiple devices experience.

According to Chief Executive Officer, Mr. Justin Nedd, GTT has invested some US$20 million to introduce an initial phase of the new high speed internet. As such he noted customers can conclude that there are even more and exciting things to come from GTT.

As the first telephone company and the sole provider of landline service, GTT was first introduced to the Guyanese society in 1995.
