Local agencies being represented at CFATF meeting in T&T

A number of agencies are being represented at an ongoing Caribbean Financial Action Task Force [CFATF] meeting in Trinidad and Tobago.

Accompanying Attorney General and Minister of Legal Affairs Mr. Basil Williams S.C., M.P., is a 15 member delegation who are presently attending the CFATF XLVII Working Groups and Plenary Meetings in Port of Spain. The Working Groups Meetings which commenced May 27 will continue until May 29  and the Plenary from 30- 31 of May 2018.

The (CFATF) Steering Group and the Plenary Meetings will be chaired by the Attorney General who is also the Chairman of CFATF.

The Working Groups include:  CFATF/ ICRG, Forum for Heads of FIU; Steering Group Meetings and CFATF Working Group on FATF Issues – WGFI (PDG, ECG & GNCG).

The delegates are from agencies including the Attorney General Chambers, Bank of Guyana (BOG), Guyana Revenue Authority (GRA), Financial Intelligence Unit (FIU); DPP Chambers, Gaming Authority; Guyana Gold Board (GGB); Guyana Geology & Mines Commission (GGMC) and Chief Cooperatives Development Officer (CCDO).

On arrival in Trinidad and Tobago the Honourable Attorney General Mr. Basil Williams S.C., M.P participated in the flag raising ceremony at the Guyana High Commission, hosted by His Excellency, Mr. Bishwaishwar Cammie Ramsaroop Guyana’s High Commissioner to Trinidad and Tobago.
