Major changes expected for Miss World Guyana pageant

Miss World Guyana is described as the only truly Guyanese run international competition that selects a winner to compete on the world stage. According to its promoters, “This year, we are changing the standards to ensure that EVERY eligible young woman, with the requisite talent and skill has a chance to represent Guyana.”

Miss Vena Mookram is the reigning Miss World Guyana

As such it was noted that major changes are underway at Miss World Guyana “as we intend to increase the pool of participants, making it easier for potential candidates to audition for their spot, lowering the fees to make it affordable for anyone to enter, and MWG will seek corporate sponsorship so that the young women are not burdened by this task and can fully focus on their dream.”

For the first time open auditions will be held in Rosehall, Berbice Saturday March 17 1pm at the Alex Foster Hall; Linden March 18 1 pm at Watooka House and Georgetown Saturday March 24th 1 pm at The Pegasus where anyone can come and find out what it takes to represent Guyana. Judging will be done by internationally recognized standards and Tally Genie which allows for full transparency and quality.

Family members are urged to come out and learn about this unique opportunity that doesn’t only promote beauty but focuses on talent, growth and purpose. A major part of the over $5M prize package is made up of university scholarships, travel, annual stipend and much, much, more.

Additionally, if potential delegates cannot attend the open auditions, they can visit the website or Facebook – Miss World Guyana page and register on-line before March 28th, 2018.

You MUST pre-register for the auditions by sending contact information and a photo of yourself to: Nadia 648-8806 or email to [email protected]
