On Friday (July 28th, 2017) Hon. Minister Nicolette Henry was briefed on the plans for the implementation of a National Cadet Corps in Secondary Schools. The briefing was hosted in the boardroom of Camp Ayanghanna, GDF Headquarters and comprised of Chief of Staff Brigadier Patrick West among other military officials, Directors of youth and Culture Ms Melissa Charmichael and Tamika Boatswain as well as Ms Donna Chapman Deputy Chief Education Officer and others.
The implementation would be a collaborative effort between the Guyana Defence Force, the Ministry of Education and other stakeholders.
A GDF Team delivered a presentation on the National Cadet Corps, to the Minister of Education and her team, at the Force Conference Room at Defence Headquarters, Base Camp Ayanganna.
