Although he said to now be in good spirits and upbeat, Minister of Social Cohesion, Dr. George Norton, was this afternoon admitted to the Georgetown Public Hospital Corporation [GPHC] for emergency medical attention. This followed on the heels of him complaining of feeling unwell.
Dr. Norton is being accommodated in the hospital’s Cardiac Intensive Care Unit where he is being observed closely.
Earlier in the day Dr. Norton’s claims of feeling unwell saw him being rushed to the GPHC.
It was suspected that the Minister, who prides himself as an athlete, had suffered a cardiac condition but other reports suggest that his blood pressure had considerably spiked. He is expected to make a full recovery.
Dr. Norton, the former Minister of Public Health, since being admitted to hospital was visited by President David Granger who was accompanied by Minister of State, Mr. Joseph Harmon, and Minister of Public Infrastructure, Mr. David Patterson.
