Ministry launches APP to aid NGSA preparation

An app to aid pupils’ preparation for the National Grade Six Assessment [NGSA] was today launched by the Ministry of Education’s National Centre for Educational Resource Development [NCERD]. The launch was done in collaboration with StemGuyana which built the app.

The app is one that covers the four core areas which are tested at the NGSA – Maths, English, Social Studies and Science. A key aspect of the app is that it has monitoring and evaluation mechanisms to guide teachers and parents.

Those gathered to witness the event were exposed to a demonstration session of the app by local Director of STEMGuyana, Mr. Colin Sawh.

The app, which goes by the name NGSA Practice Exams, is currently available for use at the Google PlayStore where it can be downloaded to android devices.

The app comes are part of the Ministry’s ongoing efforts to improve pupils’ performances at the NGSA.
