The launch of the Miss World-Guyana 2017 ‘Sweet Vigor’ campaign is slated for Friday August 4, 2017 at the Quamina Street, Georgetown, Cara Lodge.

Representing Guyana at the Miss World Competition this year is the lovely Miss Vena Mookram.

The “sweet vigor” campaign specifically focuses on bringing awareness to Diabetes Prevention through diet and exercise. “We are honored to have the involvement of our patrons and partners support this multimillion dollar project,” said a statement from the Miss World Organisation headed by Ms. Natasha Martindale.

The objective of the ‘sweet vigour’ is to educate the general public about how to prevent and treat diabetes through healthy eating and being physically active. The team will highlight the benefits and importance of being tested early for diabetes and give guidelines that would help everyone. The campaign strongly believes that by educating persons, especially youths, about diabetes, it will give them control over the disease and some peace of mind.
