Mobile Money, the GTT money payment service, will now provide another opportunity for its users to make a difference to the lives of those in need through the launch of the company’s “Acts of Kindness Drive”.
It is often the wish of many persons to help the less fortunate, the homeless, and the abused, but the challenge is not knowing how it can be done, or the time constraint of visiting the Charity to make a contribution. It is now easy with Mobile Money ‘Shop n Go’ service; all registered MMG users will be able to use their electronic funds/mobile money to donate to a Charity of their choice at any time (24/7), and from anywhere.
GTT and its customers successfully used the service last October for the Pinktober initiative where Mobile Money users paid for their Pinktober package inclusive of a donation to the Guyana Cancer Foundation from their mobile phone via MMG’s Shop n Go Service.
“GTT became aware of the benevolent spirit of Guyanese to contribute towards positively making a difference in the lives of those in need and decided to use this initiative to make it possible in an easy way for it to be done,” said Vice President of Retail Operations, Ms. Tracey Smith.
“Now we want to encourage more acts of kindness through MMG but extending the number of charities who can access our platform”.
The organizations currently signed on to the MMG “Acts of Kindness Drive” are: Help & Shelter, Ptolemy Reid, Joshua House, St Anns, St. Johns Bosco, Salvation Army and Food for the Poor.
The process to donate is simple. Each organization will have a unique 5 digit Merchant Code which registered MMG users will enter with the amount of money they wish to donate to the specific organization/charity.
