Recently [Monday, August 13, 2018], His Excellency Dr. David Goldwin Pollard presented his Letters of Credence to H.E. President Joko Widodo and was accredited Ambassador of the Co-operative Republic of Guyana to the Republic of Indonesia.
Dr. Pollard serves as Guyana’s High Commissioner to the Republic of India and is concurrently accredited as Guyana’s Non-Resident High Commissioner to the People’s Republic of Bangladesh.
Diplomatic relations between Guyana and Indonesia were established on August 27, 1999. Since then, the two countries have collaborated in international fora such as the Non-Aligned Movement, the G-77 and China and the United Nations.
Additionally, Guyana has benefited from several scholarship opportunities and technical assistance provided by the Government of Indonesia.
