It is no secret that there has been a rise in the amount of armed robberies in the past few months. Much so that it has aroused a feeling of dread among the people of the country, even though there have been police efforts to calm the situation.
In the attempt to help curb the growing problem, Chief Executive Officer of Roraima Airways, Gerry Gouveia has offered the Guyana Police Force one hour aerial patrol every month in area where crimes are rampant. This of course comes at no cost to the Force or the government.
It was during a press conference on Monday at the Police Officers’ Mess as Eve Leary that the businessman offered his company’s services. He is stern about the Force using this one hour to the best of its ability in order to deal with the scourge of crime affecting the nation.
