Written by

After months of anticipation, and about a decade after his father, Prince Charles visited Guyana, the day is finally here. Prince Harry of Wales has landed in Guyana earlier today, wrapping up his two week visit to the Caribbean on behalf of his grandmother, Queen Elizabeth II.

Prince Harry has already made visits to the islands of Antigua and Barbuda, Barbados, Grenada, St Kitts and Nevis, St Lucia and St Vincent and the Grenadines. His visit also coincides with the 50th Independence Anniversary of both Guyana and Barbados, as well as the 35th for Antigua and Barbuda.

His royal highness is expected to stay in Guyana for three days and according to The British High Commissioner to Guyana, he will have the opportunity to see life in Guyana from various perspectives, including not only Georgetown but also the hinterland – most notably the villages of Surama and FairView, as well as the spectacular Kaieteur Falls and the Iwokrama conservation reserve.
