Friends and supporters of Guyana’s Deaf Community are invited to the viewing of a trailer of ‘Silent Voices’, a 30-minute film that is now being produced by the Deaf Association of Guyana (DAG) for the Human Rights Film Festival.
The film is a joint initiative of the Brazilian Embassy Georgetown and the Guyana Equality Forum (GEF), slated for September 28, 29 and October 2, 3 and 4, 2017.
‘Silent Voices’ features a group of Deaf youth discussing – and enacting – issues affecting them and ‘disabling’ them. The film team will be at hand at the viewing to answer any questions and to explain why the film is important to them.
The event is scheduled for Wednesday 23rd August, 3pm, at the Brazilian Cultural Centre.
