This week, for our Talent segment, we’ll be featuring the passionate photographer and cinematographer, Shamar Semple.
Semple is 23 years old and grew up in W Bent Street, Wortmanville with his Great-Grandmother. The student and athlete cherishes simplicity, noting that the quality allows him to remain humble.
As a child, he was a gifted sportsman, participating in games of cricket, table tennis and football. Currently, Shemar spends most of his time at his studio trying to develop and improve on his craft, as he aims to be the best at what he does.
When asked what motivates him, he said “himself”. He personally believes that only you can motivate yourself the way you truly should be motivated.
He also draws inspiration from his grandmother, stating that she’s the “driving force” in his life.
Speaking on his accomplishments, Shemar said that one of his greatest achievements would be completing a Diploma in Communication Studies at the University of Guyana. Asked why he renders this such a great accomplishment, he said that it creates a pathway to his dream job – a Film Producer/ Director.
He lives true to the words of Bruce Lee, “Time means a lot to me because, you see, I too am also a learner and am often lost in the joy of forever developing and simplifying. If you love life, don’t waste time, for time is what life is made up of”.
