Tutoring and mentoring programs, neighbourhood clean-ups and charity events, all at no cost to its beneficiaries, are only but a few of the noteworthy ventures undertaken by the Indo-Caribbean Alliance Inc. (ICA).

This non-profit organization, founded 10 years ago, is based in Queens, New York. It was formed by three residents who wanted to organize their community and did so by creating programs and services that would unify different walks of people, organizations and businesses. The efforts are undertaken mainly in the South Queens territory, including Richmond Hill, South Ozone Park, Ozone Park, South Jamaica and Jamaica.

Member of the Board of Directors for the ICA, Bihari Lall, noted that his involvement with the organization came after he developed a need to contribute more to his community. Apart from being a member of ICA’s Board, Lall is a Franchise Owner at Denny’s of Brooklyn and Jackson Heights, Vice President of Bedessee Imports and Owner at Gitto’s Farmer’s Market in the Brooklyn terminal market.
Of the many activities undertaken by ICA, Lall expressed most satisfaction with those geared towards helping people in need.
