Ole Higue costume for Miss Earth Guyana 2018

Miss Earth Guyana National Costume is expected to be turning many heads.  On Monday afternoon, Guyana Premier, the Franchise Holder for Miss Earth Guyana revealed the National Costume for Miss Earth Guyana 2018, Xamiera Kippins, is the Ole Higue. The Ole Higue comes from a Guyanese Folklore. The Ole Higue is a shape-shifting creature of folklore that appears in the form of a solitary old woman by day. During the night however, she strips off her wrinkled skin and puts it in a mortar.

This causes her to reveal her true form, a ball of fire. As a fireball she can fly across the dark sky in search of an unsuspecting victim. Ole higues can enter the homes of her victims through the use of any size of hole with direct access to the interior of the house. Miss Earth Guyana 2018 Costume was designed by Randy Madray.

The pageant is powered by Guyana Premier, DemBake, Caribbean Wind & Sun Inc., The Government of Guyana, Fly Jamaica Airways, Aracari Resort and Precise Printing. #MissEarth2018 National Costume Competition will be held on October 11, 2018, 7:00 PM at the Ballroom of Century Park Hotel Manila in the Philippines. The event will be Live Stream on www.facebook.com/MissEarth.
