Dr James Rose in his Foreword described the book as “the sum total of the historical exploration of a Guyanese scholar, who over the span of a fruitful academic career, applied historical methodology and passion to a wide range of issues, topics and subject areas germane to a proper understanding of aspects of the society in which he lived and worked…This collection has been devised to offer an overview of current topics in the field of history, education, nationalism, labour, biographies and cricket.”

President Granger has supported this venture from the very beginning, allowing this much-needed work of history to become a reality.
